Tattoo CBD Skincare

Day One

After getting your tattoo, your skin is essentially a huge open door just inviting infection and bacteria to come in. After finishing, your tattoo artist should treat the area with an antibacterial ointment and then wrap the new tattoo in a plastic wrap or another type of covering. They will usually recommend a certain amount of time to keep the wrap on. As the Dude says, “Abide”. You don’t want any nasty infections getting in there!

When it’s time to remove the bandage, make sure that your hands are clean and dry. Use a soap that is low in alcohol & has no fragrance. Use your hands to wash the area and be gentle when lathering the soap. Once the tattoo is clean, pat it dry with a cloth. There is typically no need to reapply a bandage once you have removed it, the more fresh air your skin gets, the faster it will heal! That first night your tattoo is going to ooze the extra ink out so it is highly recommended to not sleep on your new white sheets!

Usually around day 2, your skin has expelled all of the extra plasma and ink from the tattoo area and the skin around your tattoo starts to dry out and look like a sunburn. There will typically be large dried skin flakes that appear, try not to pick at these because it will prevent your skin from absorbing the maximum amount of pigment that it can absorb. Let the flakes come off naturally. Now it’s time to start applying our Ink-Wise Tattoo Balm!

Ink-Wise Tattoo Balm

The Ink-Wise Tattoo Balm is an all-natural CBD infused tattoo aftercare product that will reduce scabbing, preserve your tattoo’s color & support your skin’s healing. There are a million tattoo aftercare products on the market, what makes the Ink-Wise so different? For starters, we made sure that the base of our balm was a solid mixture of all-natural botanical ingredients that are proven to keep skin healthy, moisturized & radiant. These ingredients include Jojoba Wax, Rosehip Seed Oil & Vitamin E. The aforementioned ingredients form an extremely strong base for our product, but they aren’t the ingredients that make our product unique… The cannabis plant is what makes our products unique.

Cannabis and the Case for CBD

Don’t stop reading because you see the word cannabis! The Ink-Wise Tattoo Balm is legal in all 50 states. There are 2 main active compounds in the cannabis plants, THC and CBD (Cannabidiol). THC is responsible for the buzz you feel when you smoke or ingest marijuana; it is the psychoactive compound in the cannabis plant. However CBD, which is found in industrial hemp plants grown only for their fibers is non-psychoactive, ie doesn’t get you high!

So why use CBD oil in our products? CBD has some extremely unique healing properties and has been shown to be anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, analgesic, & cell-regenerative. When you apply CBD topically, there will be no psychoactive effects and you will not feel high at all. It will not affect a drug test and is not an illicit substance.

Our CBD tattoo aftercare product Ink-Wise is infused with 100 mg of active CBD and hemp seed oil. The cell-regeneration that occurs when using CBD is incredible. We are not only tattoo enthusiasts, but we are true believers of this product and stand behind it 100%. We’ve consulted with artists in the industry and top product developers to create a tattoo care product unlike any other. Most of our customers have noticed that the healing time of their tattoos was significantly shortened when they used our tattoo balm and it also helped improve and brighten tattoo pigmentation.

Faded and scabbed tattoos are things that no one has in mind when they first get a tattoo, but next to choosing your tattoo design, the aftercare of your tattoo is the most important part of your tattoo journey. While we acknowledge that this is a new and taboo industry, the evidence in support of CBD’s healing properties is more than anecdotal. The entire CAUSE+MEDIC team swears by our revolutionary new product line and hopes that you too will experience the amazing properties of our cannabis tattoo balm, Ink-Wise!

Be Kind to Your Skin.
